Subtract 1630 from 2007 to get 377.

Going back to the 2nd century C.E., Claudius Ptolemy came up with a neat approximation for Pi by using a sexigesimal number system (base 60). His calculation of 3 degrees 8 minutes and 30 seconds, or 3+8/60+30/3600, = 377/120 or @3.14167 rounded, accurate to three decimal places. Actually, he probably took these calculations from Hipparchus who was an early astronomer of the 2nd century B.C.E.

Well, around 450 C.E. the Chinese Tsu Ch'ung-chih established a most remarkable approximation of Pi with an accuracy to the 6th decimal place (355/113 = 3.1415929...). Tsu started with an inscribed hexagon in a circle, then doubled the sides of the hexagon 12 times yielding a 24,576 sided inscribed polygon. Tsu's approximation of Pi had stood for the best approximation for over 1000 years.

In 1585, the Dutch mathematician, Adriaen Anthonisz, used inscribed and circumscribed polygons to show that 377/120 > Pi > 333/106 or (3.14167 > Pi > 3.14151). When Adriaen averaged the numerators and the denominators, he independently discovered the Chinese value of 355/113.

For lessor accurate approximations of Pi, check out the Biblical Scriptures in 1 Kings 7:23 and 2 Chronicles 4:2. Also, a simple approximation of Pi to two decimal digits is 22/7 found by Piero della Francesca in 1475 C.E.

2007 is the 377th anniversary of the founding of Boston, Massachusetts.

1630, March 29, the Great Migration - is when the ship Arbella and three other ships departed Southampton, England with 400 passengers headed for Massachusetts Bay Colony in America.

1630, June 26 - July 6, Swedish troops under Gustavus Adolphus land in Pomerania, Germany to aid Protestants.

1630, July 6, the last ship of the Winthrop Fleet, lands safely at Salem harbor, Massachusetts Bay Colony.

1630, July 30, John Winthrop helps in founding a church in Massachusetts later known as First Church of Boston.

1630, Sept. 17, The city of Boston, Massachusetts is founded.

1630, Nov. 15, Johannes Kepler, German astronomer died, born (1571). Now before I show the PI Search results of 331552883, let me explain how I came up with that number and its significance. You will probably be just as amazed as I was when I found out the following.

I just completed a first run CD recording of 18 original songs I composed for guitar and flute. Examine the CD and listen to what some of the songs sound like at www.NaturesCalmMusic.com. I am currently re-recording all the songs for their final takes with some revisions, and hope to have the CD completed shortly.

Within the 18 song titles, the first letter of each word comes from only 14 different letters. [14 = 7+7]
Using English gematria (A=1, Z=26), I added up the numeric values of each letter in the title of the CD: "Nature's Calm - Reflective Moments" to get a total of 331. I then added the numeric values of the first letter in each word of all 18 songs to get a total of 552. Afterwords, I added 331 + 552 to get 883. Those numbers do not seem to be very significant. However, check out the following.

331 is the sum of five consecutive primes [59+61+67+71+73].

552 is the sum of the next six consecutive primes [79+83+89+97+101+103].

883 is the sum of eleven consecutive primes [59+61+67+71+73+79+83+89+97+101+103].

Now what are the astronomical odds of those numbers relating so well with each other? Did you notice from the five consecutive primes adding up to 331, that two separate pairs of sequential primes add up to 120 and 144 respectively? 59+61 = 120 and 71+73 = 144. The remaining number, 67, represents the 67th prime, which is 331.

Here are some more findings.

Add up the digits in 331 [(3+3+1) = 7] and [(3*3*1) = 9 or (3*3) or (3+3+3)].

Add up the digits in 552 [(5+5+2) = 12] and [(5*5*2) = 50 or (5*10)]. 10 dec = 12 octal and 10 hex = 10000 binary.

Add up the digits in 883 [(8+8+3) = 19 or (7+12)] and [(8*8*3) = 192 or (12*16)]. 16 dec = 10000 binary

Now 331 is also the 7th cuban prime number, the 11th centered hexagonal number, the 12th centered pentagonal number, and the 67th sequential prime number. In air, at a temperature of 32 degrees Fahrenheit/0 degrees Celsius (freezing point of water) the speed of sound travels 1087 feet (331 meters) per second. Add up the positive digits in 1087 [(1+8+7) = 16]. 16 dec = 10000 binary

552 is also the 24th (12+12) oblong (or pronic, or heteromecic) number and the sum of 10 consecutive primes [37+41+43+47+53+59+61+67+71+73]. Notice that the last five consecutive primes are the same primes that add up to 331. Here is a cute MENSA test question. When does 331 equal half of 552? Think about the 10 sequential prime numbers that sum to 552.

552 - 331 = 221, which is the sum of the first five consecutive prime numbers from the 10 consecutive primes that add up to 552. The first seven consecutive prime numbers in our number system can be used to create an equation showing 221 = 221. [2 x 3 x 5 x 7 + 11 = 13 x 17].

The seventh prime number is 17. If you factorialize 17 then factor the total, the first seven consecutive primes are all used as factors.

17! = 355687428096000

factor(355687428096000) = 2^15*3^6*5^3*7^2*11*13*17 or 32768*729*125*49*11*13*17

Add up all the exponents: [15+6+3+2 = 26] 26 is the English gematria for GOD, and for YHWH using Hebrew gematria.
Add up all the individual exponent digits of 15, 6, 3, and 2: [1+5+6+3+2 = 17]

331 + 552 = 883, which is also the sum of three consecutive primes (283+293+307). 883 is the 153rd sequential prime number. Research how the number 153 relates to God and Scripture.

Do you see a familiar pattern with the numbers 221, 331, 552, and 883? Yes! You are correct. The left, center, and rightmost digits from one number to the next represent a Fibonacci series (2+3=5, 3+5=8 and 1+1=2, 1+2=3) as in column B below. Also, like Opaleg, I see chaos as being natural, or the confused unorganized state of primordial matter before the creation of distinct forms (Webster's Dictionary).

A good example of finding order (distinct forms) out of chaos (unorganized state) is using the number 883. As mentioned before, 883 is the 153rd prime. If you put the first 153 primes in a chart going across 10 columns, then add up each column separately, you will find that all 10 digits of our number system are represented by the totals of these columns. Especially notice that the second digit from the left within each total provides the following sequential order (distinct form) of these 10 digits starting with the number four. Remember that the 153rd prime is 883. Also, the number 17 is the 7th prime.

My personal discoveries and conjectures about prime numbers show that all prime numbers fit within a specific order. I created a binary chart that represents these prime numbers at:

www.borderschess.org/KTprimes.htm

Here is a brief extract from the above URL.

The chart can be used as a graphical representation of the sieve of Eratosthenes (276?-196? To learn more about the sieve of Eratosthenes, read pages 77 and following in Mathematics: From the Birth of Numbers by Jan Gullberg.

Notice the numbers 153 and 77 in the aforementioned paragraph.

Another interesting point about 153 is that when squaring each digit and then multiplying them together, they equal 225 or 15*15, [1^2 * 5^2 * 3^2 = 225]. On page 212 in Mathematics: From the Birth of Numbers by Jan Gullberg, Jan shows a 15*15 magic square where the top right corner square contains the number 120.

When doing a Pi search on the number 668, the 20 digits to its left add up to 77 while the 20 digits to the right add up to 90. 77+90 = 167. 167 octal = 77 hex. 90 hex = 144 decimal. Divide 668 by 120 and reduce it down to 167/30.

Now look up pages 77 and 90 in Jan Gullberg's book: Mathematics: From the Birth of Numbers.

Page 77 begins a new chapter "3.2 Prime Numbers" where the first number mentioned is the composite number 120 [120 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 5].

Page 90 starts out talking about inscribing and circumscribing a circle with polygons with ever increasing number of sides that can approach the periphery of the circle. This process is used to obtain more accurate estimates for Pi. The first numbers mentioned on this page are À = 377/120 = 3.14166 as originally found by Hipparchus during the early 2nd century BCE.

Read all of chapter "3.6 The Quest for À" from pages 89-96 from Jan Gullberg's book.

Others have used my analysis and charts about prime numbers. Most notably, Jeffery Ventrella wrote a paper for the 7th International Conference on Complex Systems in Boston Massachusetts, and gave a presentation on October 29, 2007. He put his work about primes on the following web page:

Prime Numbers are the Holes Behind Complex Composite Patterns - Visualizing Math with the Divisor Plot

where he expounds on my prime number discoveries, along with those of others.

On Jeffery's website, read about numbers such as 7! (seven factorial), 12! (twelve factorial), 120 and others.

Isn't it interesting how two totally unrelated numbers such as 16302007 and 331552883 can have so many things in common?

www.BordersChess.org/MM_16302007.htm modified 2007.11.04
